How to Tell an Authentic Rudraksha
Modern interpretation
Counterfeit Rudraksha are common. Typical fakes include carved extra lines, beads glued from fragments, and seeds of other species.
Our acceptance checks: visual inspection of each line under magnification; X-ray or CT imaging for higher mukhi beads to confirm internal compartments match the external lines; weight and density checks; and sourcing only from documented growers in the Arun Valley of Nepal.
The popular "floating in water" and "spinning between coins" tests are unreliable and should not be used to judge authenticity.
